Our story

Two brothers, one little trailer.

First Wave started the way the best Maui mornings do — early, and with the people you love. Two brothers set up a little trailer in Kahului, named it for that first set of waves at dawn, and started pouring.

What keeps regulars coming back isn't only the espresso. It's being known — the barista who has your Shore Break started before you reach the window, and a shaka as you pull away.

Everything's made to order from the trailer by the Loweʻs lot: small-batch espresso, island matcha, and fresh-baked bites while they last.

Where's the trailer parked?
You'll find us at 214 Hoʻokele St, Kahului — in the Loweʻs parking lot. Look for the charcoal-and-cedar trailer with the carved COFFEE sign on top.
What are your hours?
Open Tuesday–Saturday, 7:30 am – 3:00 pm (Wednesdays we close early at 1:30 pm). Closed Sunday and Monday. Trailer hours can shift with the surf and the season — check our Instagram for the day's update.
Can I order ahead?
Yes — order on joe.coffee and skip the line. We take cards and contactless right at the window, too.
First time — what should I get?
Go for a Shore Break (macadamia nut + white chocolate) or one of our fruit matchas — strawberry and guava are favorites. Then ask whatever's on the seasonal board.
Do you cater events or large orders?
We'd love to talk story — send us a note from the form below and we'll get right back to you.
Are keiki and pups welcome?
Always. We're an open-air trailer, so the whole ʻohana — four-legged members included — is welcome at the window.
